How to best store your spirits

Wine should typically be stored lying on its side, as this keeps the cork moist and prevents it from drying out, allowing air to penetrate the cork. If air gets through the cork, it can negatively affect the taste.
Spirits, on the other hand, should be stored upright. Due to its high alcohol content, it acts as a preservative and protects the contents of the bottle. Storing your spirits on their side can cause the alcohol to come into contact with the cork, which can damage it and thus impair the taste of the spirit.
Use correct bottles
If you are the type of person who likes to pour your spirits into another bottle that will be on display, it is important to ensure that the bottle is made to keep out air and odors. It's always a good idea to look for a bottle that is made to hold spirits to avoid changes in the taste and color of the spirit.
