Our History
It all started in 2016 when a group of friends wanted to produce the strongest chili schnapps in Denmark. The interest in developing unique premium spirits at tangible prices has since grown, which led us to acquire Den
Bornholmske Spritfabrik in 2021.
With great drive, we have a vision to become Denmark's largest producer of local spirits with a strong focus on ecology, as we believe you can taste the difference. We also have a desire to rethink the concept of schnapps and develop exciting flavors while maintaining traditional production traditions.
2016
It all started with Chili
A group of friends had a passion to create the strongest chili schnapps in Denmark under the name "Snaps Bornholm". The schnapps was launched on October 14, 2016 and is today known as Limited Edition No.1 Chili Schnapps, which brought warmth and coziness to Danish homes.
2017
The eight snaps were born
Snaps Bornholm developed the classic eight schnapps, which have since become a permanent part of the range. All schnapps are created with a focus on ecology and with a focus on being able to be drunk neat and in cocktails. If you want inspiration for cocktails with schnapps, you can find inspiration here.
2018
New product on the street
The company was well on its way to producing schnapps, using the finest ingredients to create a vodka base that had added flavors and ingredients. We were so happy with our vodka that we wanted everyone to be able to taste the pure stuff. That's how Vodka Bornholm was created!
2021
Bornholm Spirits buys Den Bornholmske Spritfabrik
The year 2021 marked a remarkable milestone for Bornholm Spirits. We had the opportunity to purchase Den Bornholmske Spritfabrik, which opened the doors to new opportunities and expanded our horizons as a spirits producer. With this exciting development, we were able to realize our dream of creating a wider range of spirits than just schnapps and vodka.
The acquisition of the factory and the opportunity to expand the range also led us to change the company name from Snaps Bornholm to Bornholm Spirits.
